Turned Pro in year ......1991................................... what age did you become interested in becoming a tattoo artist …………26 where did you get your first tattoo and what was it …………A piece of crap done the day we graduated basic army training 3 days later had 5 pieces of crap and a new addiction!! , Fayes Tattoos Fort Leonardwood , Mo What did you do before taking up tattooing ...construction where did you do your apprenticeship ……Right leg ,Left leg and still wear shorts daily!! who was your mentor I met a lot af great folks on this journey and I learned from them all! I owe a debt of gratitude to Freddy Vegas , currently of One Eyed Blue Monkey Tattoo in St.Roberts , Mo what is the most unusual thing you have ever tattooed on somebody That list is long and not fit for reprint!! LOL which do you get most of each week, male or female clients………60/40 female what is your favourite style of work you do………Fun tattoos on people who are fun to tattoo! what brand machines do you use……Lots! I need more what brand inks do you use (unless keeping secret)…………The good stuff Have you won any prizes at conventions for your work………I won a couple in the early 90’s and then basicly stopped going to conventions. First Place , Best Color Flash and a Second Place , Womans Large Color [/b Do you do piercing in your shop ……[b]Not any more Who does them if it is not you Why do you think tasttoos are so popular ……The art has risen to a level where it’s easier to live with! And then there’s all the media exposure , People are sheep! what is the funniest thing you remember happening in the shop …By the time I could type an event I would have remembered a better one! This job is a constant source of amusement!! Name 3 things you like……Tattoo Machines Books………………………………… …Fishing Name 3 things you dislike …Vegetables……………………… ……Fruit…………………………………Rap Music……………………… What is your favourite mode of transport …Any! I hate to walk What do you ride or drive ………Both , Again , I hate to walk! Do you smoke……………Not tobacco LOL Do you drink ……………Not Alcohol Are you in a relationship……yes…………………………… if yes how long ……4 years Do you have kids………yes……………………… If yes how many …2- Girl, 25……Boy,23 Do you have any hobbies …Those things are expensive!! Who is your all time favourite artist…………M.C. Esher What are your thoughts on internet forums. As someone who works alone , I enjoy them since it’s the only time I get to talk shop. As a means of learning , It’s incomplete and sooner or later your going to have to do some face to face time with someone who knows the ins and outs of this business! Get away from the keyboard and go get tattooed!! What advice would you give to people wanting to learn the art of tattooing .Draw, Draw, Draw! Unless you’re a gifted artist , and by this time you would know if you are, Your going to have to work 10 times harder to make a name for yourself. When I started there was a lot less gifted artists in this business and it was easy to impress folks! Now you have all these amazing people doing all these amazing tattoos and it makes the going tough!!
