dont feel bad sparx, i agree that they are not very well done at all, both look overworked and still not solid and for short lines they are very wobbly.
dont look like they have been worked to the point of scarring so both would easily be saveable by another filling and thicker lines. |

ok sinner, here's some advice. #1 crawl before you walk. some of the stuff you're doing may be too much for you at this point. start small until they're perfect and dont be afraid to say no to something you know you will struglle with. if you cant do it, then thats it. 2# dont elliminate your tools because you're having issues, figure out the issue and fix it. there is a time and place for everything. if you limit your tools you will limit your results. #3 many inks are good, you just have to figure out what color works within the brand. dont expect to change ink and see great results for all the colors within a brand. pay attention to what works for you and dont apply that to all manufacters, but to the individual color. #4and finally, the most harsh advice...evaluate your progress, some people are just not ment to tattoo, sounds mean, but its true. not everyone that can draw can tattoo. there are plenty of other things to do to stay in this industry, and dont involve actually tattooing. shop owner, manager, piercer and so on. im not sayin thats what you should do, only you can decide that. but sometimes people get hung up in the glamour of this industry and just wanna be in it cause its "cool". as great as tattooing for a living is, it can be very high pressure on your life. some of this advice you may take some you may not, i'm just telling you my opinion,if it sounds harsh, sorry, but you gotta have a thick skin if you're gonna do this. maybe this is why you may have heard i'm an A#$hole, but im just being honest. |

yeppers first one looks overworked in the transition from black to red (see those lumps thats generally pushing it a bit) the darker blues also look a bit battered.
to get it in better it could be your machine or technique or ink, i always have a hard time with blues especially starbright blues, the fact i can get them in solid without overworking is thanks to having a great shader that allows me to run over and over the same area without too much damage. i love starbrights but its good to mix up your colors, pick your favorite from each brand. try varying your hand speed when filling, try making real slow and tight ovals with the aim of only having to go over the same area 1-2 times, you can get away with more passes but if your machine is hitting too hard you could be heading towards hamburger ville within 3 passes. if you see that your color aint going in too easily adjust your depth, going deeper helps me sometimes, and oftenchanging your angle can help, for some colors i end up filling with the machine near 90 degrees, might not work for everyone but does for me. didnt realise that these were yours don, much improvement on your other work, these are easily fixable and much cleaner looking than alot of your previous work, i dont mean cleaner as in sharper lines etc but they just have a cleaner overall look |
